Karrie Schwartz practices in the areas of banking, tort, contract, insurance, commercial, professional liability defense, and property litigation.

Karrie graduated with her B.A. in political science from Emory University in Atlanta, where she was a member of the Barkley Forum Debating society.  After attending her first year of law school at Georgia State College of Law, Karrie transferred and received her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Chicago Kent College of Law with high honors in 2003.  While in law school, Karrie received CALI awards for the highest class grades in Business Organizations; Civil Procedure; Energy Law; Environmental Law & Policy II;  Estates & Trusts; Legal Drafting; and Property Law.  She was a Teaching Assistant for Civil Procedure in her final year of law school and was elected to the Order of the Coif, a legal honorary society, in 2004.

Karrie has litigated a wide variety of cases including trials involving products liability, medical malpractice, and 42 U.S.C.  1983 litigation.  Karrie has extensive experience in a range of matters across the civil litigation spectrum including cases involving:  premises liability; class actions; professional malpractice; insurance coverage; declaratory judgments; medical and legal malpractice; FDCPA and FCRA matters; Tort Claims Act;  indemnification issues; subrogation; and business and contract disputes.  Karrie’s practice as a litigator has led to both published and unpublished decisions in various courts.

Karrie is proficient in French and is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association and the Lake County Bar.  She has served on the Board of Editors of the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana in Employment Law and Contract Law from 2019 to the present.

Karrie holds a chair position on the Beautification Committee at Elliott Elementary PTO from 2015 to the present.  Karrie has served as a Council Member at MPN Research Foundation from 2019 to the present.
